Hi, I'm Caitlin!

  • Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES)
  • Master's in Exercise and Health Psychology from McGill University, Montreal.

My Story and Inspiration

I gave birth to my first daughter, Maura, in April of 2016. I was a personal trainer and distance runner prior to my pregnancy and planned to run through pregnancy, stay fit, have that easy birth that the internet promises to fit women, and jump back into running asap postpartum. Didn’t happen. I did every thing I was told, and I delivered a healthy 8lb 3oz baby girl, but my delivery wasn’t easy, and I didn’t bounce back.

I had torn significantly. I was diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse. I was devastated. I was supposed to be running with my brand new jogging stroller at 6 weeks postpartum, and instead I was finally cleared to begin taking walks at 3 months.  After 7 months, several specialists, and a lot of Kegels, I was told I was a candidate for surgery.

Instead, I did research and then more research. I became a Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and I was my first client. I learned to manage my core pressure, address muscle imbalances preventing me from healing, and most importantly felt confident working out again.

I learned that I didn’t do anything wrong, nor was I a rare case, the information that I needed to feel better was just hard to find. I want to change that. Women deserve to have all the information they need to heal their bodies and return to physical activity safely and comfortably. We sacrifice so many things when we have children, our health doesn’t need to be one of them.
